Gotta admit, this one caught be blindsided. How smart are expensive funerals, caskets, and land set aside for funeral parks? This subject was highlighted in a recent Wall Street Journal article about natural or green cemeteries.
Cremation may seem like the only other solution, but you have to now think about the hydrocarbons used in the fuel to cremate a body, not to mention the stuff that goes out with the exhaust?
I still recall the old Sci-Fi movie "Soylent Green" which may have been well ahead of its time and certainly the ultimate in recycling processes.
Frankly, I resist the ugly and catastrophic types of futuristic predictions, but I also believe that it is better to change the way we do business now than later.
